Admiral Rob Bauer (NL) delivered the 2024 Princess Beatrix lecture in Maastricht (NL), commenting, among other things, on China’s role on the international stage and in the war in Ukraine, Donald Trump’s upcoming presidency and Europe’s role in NATO.

Under the moderation of Hajar Yagkoubi, our co-founder Nicole Rijkens joined experts Jean-Pierre van Aubel (defence policy and strategy at the European External Action Service) and Yf Reykers (assistant professor in international relations at Maastricht University) in a panel on the impact of European security policy on local communities such as Zuid-Limburg. During the discussion they stressed the importance of preparing society for shocks and crises.
