Pantopicon has the privilege to contribute to future-tuning the spatial vision for the Province of Limburg (NL)—a task as complex as it is exciting!

From building a regional circular economy across key sectors (agriculture, chemistry, construction, logistics etc.) to safeguarding biodiversity, strengthening water resources, and ensuring climate resilience: Limburg faces many challenges. Each choice carries spatial consequences—above, below, and deep underground.

On November 27th, during a thought-provoking dîner pensant hosted by the province, 50+ stakeholders gathered to tackle these pressing issues over food and drinks. Our colleague, Nicole Rijkens, had the honor of inspiring and moderating alongside Deputy Michael Theuns and team leader Marijke Embregts. The evening sparked meaningful dialogue—one that will continue.

Reflecting on 25 years of spatial planning in Limburg, one thing is clear: the integral, forward-looking spirit remains alive. Yet, the world has become more turbulent, unpredictable, and complex, with challenges like climate change, war, and technological disruption demanding shock-resistant spatial planning for a sustainable future.
