“Make in order to think better” underscores a key principle of prototyping in design. It was also a starting point for one of the activities during the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (aka VITO)’s recent “Upcycle your innovation” day. Pantopicon – Nik, Nicole & Catherine – took participants on a day-long trip from budding idea to a more detailed service concept. Each of the concepts was crafted to stimulate discussion and eventually formulate a series of engaging research questions surrounding the envisioned technologies and their ecosystems. Once again, foresight and design went hand in hand.
